This transparent-orange electric guitar is the semi-hollow version of the G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy. It combines several familiar features of vintage fifties and sixties T-style guitars, such as both a single-coil in the bridge position and a humbucker at the neck, making it very versatile for various types of music from country to blues and rock. This Clear Orange version of the G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy semi-hollow has a maple fretboard that gives it a bit more bite in the trebles than the Blonde and Tobacco Sunburst versions with their rosewood fretboards.

Construction of the G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy semi-hollow

One of the Bluesboy's most distinctive features is its partially hollow, beautifully grained ash body. Inside it are two sound chambers, one of which sports a graceful f-shaped sound hole. These instruments are also known as thinline guitars. Originally meant to save weight, the hollow body turned out to have a surprisingly good influence on the overall sound. The tone of the G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy semi-hollow is a bit less bright than that of a traditional T-style guitar, restraining the mids and bringing out the bass and treble.

G&L USA hardware and electronics

The G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow features the same hardware and electronics as its American siblings: a G&L Magnetic Field Design single-coil pickup at the bridge and a G&L alnico humbucker at the neck. The bridge pickup produces a modern sound with some more output and less twang than the traditional T-style pickup, whereas the neck pickup has a warm vintage tone that is perfect for sultry, jazzy cleans and crunchy blues solos. The bridge on this guitar is a classic Ash Tray model equipped with six adjustable brass saddles for optimal intonation.
